So I also bought a SBC for the period heads, the oil pan and miscellaneous replacement stock. The idea being that I have 2 working motors, a 396 and a 327 and can swap to pull one to work on it without the car being out of commission.

Ashraf- may I borrow your engine hoist around the last week of the month, when I take possession?

Okay, so this SBC block turns out to be a '68-69 327 from a truck, which rocks as the oilpan and other parts will be a direct fit for my 327. Oddly the heads are actually from a '68-70 350. They should still do fine on my car.

I will have a nice forged 350 crankshaft to sell when I'm done tearing it apart, if anyone knows anyone.
